So fresh and new!

Today I got to photograph my cousin's new baby boy, who was seriously the best model I've ever had! He didn't protest at all, no matter what I did with him! Even when we undressed him and moved him into about a dozen different positions, there wasn't a peep out of him. I sure hope my next baby is as good as he is!

Fun event this weekend

I was asked by Jodi Adams to be the photographer at this great event, coming this weekend. Its a charity auction for Central Catholic High School, and I'm so excited to be attending! My husband and I have never been to an auction before, so we're really happy for the chance, not to mention the wonderful opportunity to be taking photographs at the event! I'll be going around taking candid shots during the silent auction as well as during the live auction, so if you're there, be sure to look for me and tell us hi! The "ALL DIGITAL" Package

I know that in this day and age, people want their digital negatives because there is so much that can be done with them. They want them for MySpace, websites, blogs, or just so that they have a back-up in case something happens to their physical prints.

With this in mind, I'm introducing my "All Digital" package

This package includes the sitting fee and you will receive all edited, high-resolution files on CD along with a copyright release allowing you to print unlimited copies of your files.

The cost of this package is $450.00 (excludes weddings)

*If you want to purchase just a few files from your session, you may do so for $50.00 per file.

My Godchild - 6 months old

You probably recognize this little cutie, since I've been taking his pictures since his birth 6 months ago. He's also featured all over my website and on my business cards. I can't help it, he's the perfect model! This is my nephew, Ethan, and he's already 6 months old!!

Little Miss Q - 6 months old

Remember this little cutie? Well, she's 6 months old now and I got to take more photos of her! She's such a sweetheart, but we couldn't get much of a smile from her. Doesn't matter, she's cute either way!

Black and White Sessions

Who doesn't love a beautiful, striking black and white image? There's just something so timeless and classic about them. So here's your chance to have gorgeous, one-of-a-kind black and white art that you'll be proud to display in your home!

From now until the end of March, you can book a black and white mini session for only $50.00. Each session will last up to 30 minutes and you can choose to do a studio session or an on-location session. Your images will be processed with one of several types of black and white treatments, depending on the look you like and what looks best on your photos. The treatments include classic B&W, high contrast, soft, toned, sepia, chocolate fudge and many more.

Senior Rep #3

Yesterday, I had my first experience with a male senior and while I have to admit, I was pretty nervous (I'm using to working and posing with girls), I really had a great time with J and his mom and sister. They were great people and I really enjoyed our time together. I loved all the bright and fun colors that J wore, too! Plus, he plays baseball, so I got some practice working with that as well. Here are just a few of the photos that I've edited, I'm really happy with how they are turning out. I hope you guys like them!

Just an update

Hey guys! I know I have a few things I need to catch up on, and I plan to get to those in the coming days, including my new Senior Site, which I've been working on. It will be the place to go to get all the details on my high school Senior sessions - rates, products, session info, galleries, etc. That way you won't have to wade through all the other stuff if you are just looking for Senior info.

I do have all of my Senior Rep spots filled, but if you attend a school that is not represented, please feel free to contact me and we'll see if we can work something out. Right now I've got Morgan City, Berwick, Patterson, Central Catholic and Assumption, so if you attend a school that isn't listed, let me know and maybe you can be a Senior Rep too! Last night I attended a seminar/workshop by an awesome photographer, Sandy Puc of Expressions Photography. She was AMAZING and had such a wealth of information. This morning I feel like my head is going to explode after she crammed a full workshop's worth of info in just 5 hours. I'm so excited about maternity and newborn photography now (that is her specialty) and I feel like I have so many new ideas to try out! Keep an eye out for a "model search" to be posted on the blog soon. I'll be looking for pregnant women (in their last couple of months) as well as newborn babies (up to 6 weeks) to build my portfolio in those areas. More details coming soon!

I also plan to host a full day of Spring mini sessions sometime in April. This will be a full day of mini-sessions where you can bring your child or small family to have some quick Spring portraits taken. More details about this as well!

I'm really just so excited about the coming months and all the great ideas I've got that I can't wait to share with you all!

Beautiful Ms. "R" - Preview

Today I had my 2nd senior shoot, and I think it went just as well as the first. I got to try a few new locations and I'm excited to see how all the shots came out. Of course, you know I can't go that long without proofing a few and showing off a sneak peek! Especially since I'll be out of town the rest of the weekend and won't get to work on them.

So here you go, R! I had a great time meeting you and your mom today, good luck tomorrow!

MySpace is up!

Instead of creating a separate blog for my Seniors (so you don't have to scroll through lots of adorable kids and babies to get to the seniors ;-) ) I created a MySpace page that will feature only my senior portraits. You'll be able to see lots more examples in addition to the ones that will be featured on my Senior Site (coming soon!)

I've FINALLY finished proofing all the pictures from this session and I'm beyond thrilled with how they look! I've got a few "extras" that I have to put together before I can send the final proofs to them, but I wanted to put a few more "teasers" up on the blog. I hope you enjoy them!

First Senior Shoot - Sneak Peek

I could have stayed up all night working on these photos! I had a blast taking pictures of this really beautiful Senior yesterday, she definitely made my first Senior shoot easy. We started our day down on Front street, where we found lots of great walls, colors and textures, then headed over to her uncle's waterfront property to finish up.

I wish I had some more samples for you to preview, but it is Mardi Gras day! ;-) I hope you enjoy your "peek" at what we did yesterday!

PS. I just took a look at these on my laptop and they may look a little washed out? I've got a monitor calibrator coming by UPS today, so I'll be able to take care of all the color issues soon! :-)

That pregnancy glow

I was super busy on Friday, taking pics of a tiny newborn, two gorgeous sisters (see previous post) and my very pregnant cousin (not much longer!) She was a very easy-going subject and her beautiful family made for some great photos. I even got to try my new maternity wrap! I hope you like the pictures, I can't wait to take Jensen's newborn photos!
