Most appropriately, here's "Z!"

My last Senior for 2008! (That's not to say I won't take anymore, he's just my last scheduled Senior) Poor "Z" had to squeeze his Senior portraits in on a Sunday morning and not just any Sunday morning, the morning after prom, ouch! I know that wasn't too fun, but he was a trooper and quite funny! I had a great time hanging out with you guys and I hope it wasn't too painful!

Here's "B"!

With a tall baseball (and football) player, beautiful scenery and a fun family, this shoot was bound to be a blast! This camp on the bayou was the perfect location for a Senior shoot with "B" and a refreshing change from the usual places I've been shooting. I had a great time talking with "B" and his mom and sister, too! I hope you guys enjoy the sneak peek!

Miss "M"

Miss "M" was so sweet and so beautiful! She came for her session by herself, so I was able to just pile her into my (messy) car and just go wherever I felt like going! We tried out a few different places and I'm happy that they turned out the way they did, so now I have a few new little spots to shoot!

Miss "B" - Senior

Miss "B" and I met at her uncle's beautiful house in Berwick and followed up with some fun on Front Street. It was a nice, warm morning and perfect lighting for shots on the bayou. "B" and her whole family were all so nice, I really enjoyed this shoot!

Another Senior Miss

I truly truly enjoy photographing Seniors, they are my absolute favorite subjects and Ms. "B" was no exception! She was a natural in front of the camera and a real trooper considering the wind storm we were shooting in yesterday! I hope you like the previews, B!

Senior Rep #3

Yesterday, I had my first experience with a male senior and while I have to admit, I was pretty nervous (I'm using to working and posing with girls), I really had a great time with J and his mom and sister. They were great people and I really enjoyed our time together. I loved all the bright and fun colors that J wore, too! Plus, he plays baseball, so I got some practice working with that as well. Here are just a few of the photos that I've edited, I'm really happy with how they are turning out. I hope you guys like them!

Just an update

Hey guys! I know I have a few things I need to catch up on, and I plan to get to those in the coming days, including my new Senior Site, which I've been working on. It will be the place to go to get all the details on my high school Senior sessions - rates, products, session info, galleries, etc. That way you won't have to wade through all the other stuff if you are just looking for Senior info.

I do have all of my Senior Rep spots filled, but if you attend a school that is not represented, please feel free to contact me and we'll see if we can work something out. Right now I've got Morgan City, Berwick, Patterson, Central Catholic and Assumption, so if you attend a school that isn't listed, let me know and maybe you can be a Senior Rep too! For samples of my Senior work, you can check out my MySpace !

Last night I attended a seminar/workshop by an awesome photographer, Sandy Puc of Expressions Photography. She was AMAZING and had such a wealth of information. This morning I feel like my head is going to explode after she crammed a full workshop's worth of info in just 5 hours. I'm so excited about maternity and newborn photography now (that is her specialty) and I feel like I have so many new ideas to try out! Keep an eye out for a "model search" to be posted on the blog soon. I'll be looking for pregnant women (in their last couple of months) as well as newborn babies (up to 6 weeks) to build my portfolio in those areas. More details coming soon!

I also plan to host a full day of Spring mini sessions sometime in April. This will be a full day of mini-sessions where you can bring your child or small family to have some quick Spring portraits taken. More details about this as well!

I'm really just so excited about the coming months and all the great ideas I've got that I can't wait to share with you all!

Beautiful Ms. "R" - Preview

Today I had my 2nd senior shoot, and I think it went just as well as the first. I got to try a few new locations and I'm excited to see how all the shots came out. Of course, you know I can't go that long without proofing a few and showing off a sneak peek! Especially since I'll be out of town the rest of the weekend and won't get to work on them.

So here you go, R! I had a great time meeting you and your mom today, good luck tomorrow!

MySpace is up!

Instead of creating a separate blog for my Seniors (so you don't have to scroll through lots of adorable kids and babies to get to the seniors ;-) ) I created a MySpace page that will feature only my senior portraits. You'll be able to see lots more examples in addition to the ones that will be featured on my Senior Site (coming soon!)

Feel free to check out the MySpace page, and don't forget to add us, so you know when we update! I may even run some "MySpace Only" specials for seniors!

And stay tuned because Jamie Heyl Seniors will be going live in the next day or two!

And a few more of Ms. "K"

I've FINALLY finished proofing all the pictures from this session and I'm beyond thrilled with how they look! I've got a few "extras" that I have to put together before I can send the final proofs to them, but I wanted to put a few more "teasers" up on the blog. I hope you enjoy them!
